This book, entitled Language teaching and Learning, is a collection of articles produced by Cucu Sutarsyah, either individually or in group. It deals with a process of teaching and learning English as a foreign language and also deals with theories linguistics and education in general. The book is very useful for students to develop insights related to the process language teaching and learning and also for linguistic researchers (Applied Linguists). This book is organized in terms of five categories; Writing; it deals with theory of writing and writing research, Vocabulary; it deals with research on vocabulary including some aspects that can influence vocabulary mastery, analyzing vocabulary size of the students; analyzing vocabulary on reading texts, and vocabulary assessment. Instructional material; these materials were collected from the students’ tasks dealing with instructional materials design which were taken from the book written by Tomlinson (2011) with entitled Materials Development in Language Teaching, Cambridge University Press, Applied Science; These materials deal with pedagogical matters, especially in language teaching, assessment, communication skills, designing English Teaching program, the role faculty preparing Teachers, appraisal on language teaching, and teacher professionalism. students’ self Realizing this, the contents of this book hopefully can inspire higher education institutions, especially Language Study Programs. It will be useful for students who are still doing research for final project to develop their theory of language teaching and learning. The preparation of this book is due to the good cooperation of related parties. Among others, colleagues and students who involved the process of research, producing the article and providing some inputs as well. With the input from these parties, this book has undergone a process of improvement. Therefore, the writer should extant his gratitude to those people for their valuable contribution.
